June 5 National Trails Day Bike Ride - TOMORROW!

On Saturday, June 5 help is needed with
the National Trails Day Star-Spangled Banner Heritage Trail bike ride. 

On the day of the event, volunteers are
needed at the following times and duties: 

8:45 AM -- Help set up tables and materials
on the front lawn of the Carlyle House, 121 North Fairfax Street (across
from Market Square) 

9 AM - Register bike riders & distribute
freebies: snacks & water bottle -- some have pre-registered, some have
not. 

9:15 AM - Alexandria Police to give
safety presentation 

9:30 AM - William Herbert character
sends riders off to Oxon Hill 

10:15 AM - Maryland riders arrive
at Carlyle House. Volunteers needed to distribute granola bars, water,
and bananas 

10:20 AM - William Herbert's' historic
interpretation 

10:45 AM - Maryland riders return
to Oxon Hill 

11:30 AM - Alexandria riders return
to Carlyle House. Volunteers needed to distribute granola bars, water,
and bananas 

11:35 - William Herbert's historic
interpretation 

Noon -  Volunteers needed to help
clean up 

Please let me know if you are interested
in helping with any of the above. Also need experienced cyclists to ride
with me and help escort the riders on the 10-mile loop. Thanks, Ruth
