The Virginia House legislature is set to vote this Saturday on HB 1048, 
increasing the minimum required passing distance for motorists 
overtaking bicyclists from two to 3 feet.
 
Such a measure would follow the best practice of 17 other states and 
the District of Columbia, and work to improve Virginia's 23rd position 
in the League of American Bicyclists annual Bicycle Friendly State 
ranking.
 
Please contact your representative and ask him/her to vote yes on HB 
1048 and support safer roads in Virginia.
