Huntington Avenue Westbound, Between Fort Hunt Road and Route 1 Closed
  

Traffic Detoured to Route 1 Southbound from July 7th through
July 21st 





Motorists using Huntington Avenue Westbound from Fort Hunt Road North in
Alexandria will be detoured to Route 1 South from July 7 through July 21st.
 The portion of the roadway at the intersection of Route 1 and Huntington
Avenue will be rebuilt and then paved.  Huntington Avenue Eastbound
will remain open during the construction. 



In addition, the dedicated far-right turn lane from Route 1 North to Huntington
Avenue Eastbound will be closed in order to begin widening and curb replacement
to prepare for the final configuration towards the Wilson Bridge. Motorists
wishing to turn right onto Huntington Avenue Eastbound can continue to
do so from the through Northbound traffic lane or turn right at the following
intersection at Fort Hunt Road. This dedicated far-right turn lane
will remain closed for the duration of this two-week operation.




As with all major roadway work, this work is weather dependent and could
be extended in the event of inclement weather.
