I had a motorist honk at me because I stopped did not run the red light
on Madison at 15th, directly in front of the Washington Monument. He
wanted to make the left turn and I was blocking him. As it happened, a
police car was right there, and before I knew it, a cop had gotten out
of the car and gave him a stern lecture about how he needed to share the
road, not honk at cyclists, and also by the way the color "red" meant
STOP in the District of Columbia. It really made my day, I can tell you!
