My name is Garrett Hoyt and I'm a second year doctoral
student at Brigham Young University studying health
promotion.   I'm interested in how the structure of a
city is related to the physical activity and health of
its residents.  As part of a research study, I am
conducting a survey on transportation preferences to
find why people use the form of transportation they
do.   My intent in this study is not to find the
percent of people who prefer a certain type of
transportation, but rather to seek out those who use
alternative transportation (at least some of the time)
and find out why they opt not to use a car and under
what circumstances they do (or would) use a car.  
While my recruiting techniques are seeking out those
who use alternative modes of commuting, those who
commute by car are also encouraged to participate in
the study so that we can better understand their
motivation for doing so.   I invite you to participate

I have IRB approval and am ready to allow people to
take it online.  If you know of any websites or other
means of disseminating the link to the survey, I would
appreciate your passing that information on to
