The National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) is pleased to announce
that your representative, James Moran has been named as a recipient of our
fourth "Friend of the National Parks" award. This award is being presented
to Members of Congress whose votes on park issues in the 108th Congress
upheld the standards and integrity of the National Park System or
protected the parks from harm.
The "Friend of the National Parks" award is based solely on a member's
voting record on legislation significant to the national parks. Please
visit our website http://www.npca.org/votingrecords to find a description
of the votes on which the award is based, as well as a complete list of
winners by state. Forty-seven senators and 191 representatives have
qualified to receive the award.
As always, it is important to recognize the good work of our elected
officials and encourage them to continue to make national park protection
a priority. Listed below is the address of your representative and a
sample letter of thanks. Please write a letter to show him you, his
constituent, cares about our national parks and appreciates his efforts.
Please also copy us on your letter at takeaction at npca.org to aid our
efforts here in Washington, DC.
Many thanks,
