Larry, excellent comments, showing your wealth of background knowledge. Not sure if you'll see this before tonight, would be great if you could speak before I do since you're more knowledgeable. Also would be great if this was used as a caveat to have Bike Walk Committee (or subcommittee) to review plans as part of staff process.

If you can speak before I do, then I'll hit on the other points.

My comments relate to missing information that I cannot readily see on the plans - so maybe tonight I will be able to see these details during the staff presentation.

1. Closing the service road is great - can the conversion to sidewalk include a bike path separate from the pedestrian walkway so there is a connection for bicyclists to Foxchase and to the residential areas and to the Holmes Run bikepath?

2. Where will the bicycle loops or racks be placed in the parking lot?

3. Does the parking lot have the requisite number of tree islands per parking row? What's standard for tree spacing in a parking lot?

4. Why can't the parking lot dedicated to Harris Teeter customers have median walks to allow pedestrians safe access to the grocery store and to their vehicles?

5. Why not have textured asphalt crosswalks between the parking lot and the stores?

6. The Harris Teeter parking area should have a turn capability from one row to another instead of deadending which forces cars to back up to access spaces available on a different parking row.
