I just returned from conference last week in Denver. Noted there that ALL
Denver city transit busses have racks on the front for up to four bikes...
Also their new light rail surface trains (appear identical to those in
Portland, OR) allow bikes on board (up to 6 per car). THEN I drove up
thorugh Boulder on the way to the mountains on Friday. Boulder is probably
"the" most bike friendly city I've ever seen. Racks on the fronts of all
busses, bike lanes marked on EVERY street (and 'enforced' by the police),
and off-road trails have been built everywhere. I saw amost as many folks
on bikes there as I did cars. Quite refreshing to see that municipalities
CAN accommodate bikes very efficiently, if they 'choose' to do so.
