SPRING AND SUMMER 2004 BIKE CLASSES

Allen Muchnick, a certified League of American Bicyclists Cycling
Instructor, offers the League's excellent 9-hour Road-I cycling course and
two three-hour mechanical courses, Bicycle Maintenance & Repair
(lecture/demonstration) and Bicycle Mechanics Workshop (all hands-on),
through Fairfax County Adult & Community Education.  All class sessions
are on week nights from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.  To register and for

CYCLING WITH CONFIDENCE (LAB ROAD-I).  On-bike and classroom instruction
in essential cycling skills for roads, paths, and groups: equipment,
mechanical self-sufficiency, efficient pedaling, bike handling, training,
vehicular cycling, and crash prevention.  Bike and helmet REQUIRED at all
classes. Nine hours. $85 ($95 for non-residents):

BICYCLE MAINTENANCE & REPAIR.  Lecture/demonstration on bike fit,
breakdown repairs, and the inspection, adjustment, lubrication, and
renovation of diverse components.  Bikes not required.  Park Tool School
manual included.  One 3-hour session.  $39 ($49 for non-residents):

BICYCLE MECHANICS WORKSHOP.  Tune up, fix, or modify your bicycle or
practice inspection, maintenance, or repair procedures in this
self-directed, hands-on sequel to Bicycle Maintenance & Repair.  Bring
bike, supplies, and inspiration.  One 3-hour session.  $28 ($38 for
non-residents):
