Support Trail Improvements in Northern Virginia Regional Parks
This opportunity to advance trail improvements, rehabilitation, and
preservation with the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority
<http://www.nvrpa.org> occurs only once every four years, so it's
important to demonstrate public support for such ongoing investment,
particularly for the 45-mile W&OD Trail..
==========
Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority
Capital Improvement Program Public Meeting Schedule
Citizens of NVRPA's six member jurisdictions (Cities of Alexandria,
Fairfax, Falls Church; Counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun)
may attend any of the following five public meetings to provide comment on
the Park Authority's draft FY 2005 - FY 2009 Capital Improvement Program.
Nine hearings have already been held throughout Fairfax County in
cooperation with the Fairfax County Park Authority.
The Regional Authority operates 19 Regional Parks and preserves more than
10,000 acres of Northern Virginia open space (see www.nvrpa.org).
Park bond referenda are scheduled in Fairfax and Arlington Counties in
November 2004. If approved, the Fairfax County bond will provide
$10,000,000 for Fairfax Countys share of NVRPAs CIP and $50,000,000 for
the county authority. Both park organizations use bond funds for land
acquisition, capital development and renovation and upgrading park
facilities.
Speakers may register by calling Carol Ann Cohen, Public Information
Officer, at 703-359-4603 or <ccohen at nvrpa.org>.
