Potomac Pedalers Touring Club Lecture Series

Monday, May 3, 7:30 pm, Fairfax County Police,
McLean District Station community room, 1437 Balls Hill Road, McLean,
Va.

The series continues in May but moves to McLean: What special training
and
equipment local bike police use to fight crime? What are the advantages
of
being a pedaling police officer? How does it differ from those who drive

four-wheeled cruisers?

In addition to demonstrating their bikes and equipment, Officer Eric
Campbell and his partner Master Police Officer Tom Black will answer
questions regarding community policing and bike safety while on patrol.
Officers Campbell and Black are senior members of the Mclean District
Station's Neighborhood Patrol Unit, with a combined bike team experience

totaling 11 years. Both are also instructors for the County's police
bike
school held twice a year for local law enforcement jurisdictions. Exact

District

Directions:  From the beltway, take the exit for route 123/Chain Bridge
Road north.  Go about a mile and turn left onto Lweinsville Road/Great
Falls street/route 694.  Turn right onto Balls Hill Road/route 686.  The

station house will be on your right, next to a soccer field.
