Our annual meeting, to discuss bicycling and trail issues in the Eighth
Congressional District, with Tim Aiken, Legislative Director for
Congressman Jim Moran, has been rescheduled for Friday, March 12, at 2239
Rayburn House Office Building, at 11:00 AM (please note the new time).
Tim has had a keen interest in funding trail improvement projects in our
district.

Tim will provide a detailed update on trail projects in the 8th District,
including the Humpback Bridge reconstruction (creating improvements and
new access to the Mt Vernon Trail at the southern crossing of Boundary
Channel), the 14th St Bridge EIS, the NEPA study on extending the Mt
Vernon Trail north of Key Bridge, and a funding opportunity to upgrade the
Potomac Heritage Trail/East Coast Greenway from Mt Vernon Circle to Rte 1
at Woodlawn Plantation and possibly along Rte 1 through Fort Belvoir as
far as Old Colchester Rd. (The latter would require coordination with
Congressman Tom Davis' office, since Ft Belvoir is now outside the 8th
District, and with VDOT).

If you would like to participate in this meeting or suggest additional
topics for discussion, please contact me.

Thanks,
