March 12 Meeting with Tim Aiken

I've scheduled a meeting with Tim Aiken, Legislative Director for
Congressman Jim Moran, for Friday, March 12, 2:00 PM at
2239 Rayburn House Office Building.  I tried to schedule this meeting for
next Thursday (March 4), but Tim can't meet with us then.  Tim has had a
keen interest in funding trail improvement projects in the Eighth District.

Tim will provide a detailed update on trail projects in the 8th District,
including the Humpback Bridge reconstruction (creating improvements and
new access to the Mt Vernon Trail at the crossing of Boundary Channel),
the 14th St Bridge EIS, and a funding opportunity to upgrade the Potomac
Heritage Trail/East Coast Greenway from Mt Vernon Circle to Rte 1 at
Woodlawn Plantation and possibly along Rte 1 through Fort Belvoir as far
as Old Colchester Rd. (The latter would require coordination with
Congressman Tom Davis' office, since Ft Belvoir is now outside the 8th
District, and VDOT).
