Greetings,
As part of the Alexandria Health Department's Safe Routes To School initiative we are giving the city's public schools minigrants to support after school walking or biking clubs (along with ped and bicyclist safety training). I am looking for a few good people to help review and award them. The application is very simple and time commitment is minimal. At this moment I donot know how many will appply but as you know there are only 17 schools in the system.
If you are interested in helping with this endeavor please contact me this week. I'd like to send a copy of applications to each person by the start of next week. Then we will individually read through them, have one meeting in March and award the minigrants by March 15th.
The only requirements are that you are not personally affiliated with any particular school and that you have time to read the applications & meet once (we will communally decide on a date, time, place).
Thanks-
