Park & Rec. Commission Vacancy

There were no applicants for the Park & Recreation Commission position from Planning District III (west end) so it is going to be advertised again. There are also 2 upcoming vacancies from Planning District II( center of the city). 
Vacancy closing dates:
Planning District II: Friday Jan 16 (See below)
Planning District III: Friday Jan 30
Planning District II: mid February
Vacancies and deadlines are announced by the city at http://ci.alexandria.va.us/city/boards_comm/vacancies.html. 
As I said in an earlier message, I am not going to apply again.  I urge someone with an interest and or knowledge of bicycling in Alexandria to apply, since currently, the Bike Committee chair must be a member of the Commission.

The Alexandria City Council is seeking applicants to fill the following vacancies on City of Alexandria boards, commissions and committees. Council will act on these vacancies at the January 27, 2004 City Council meeting. All applicants must complete a Personal Data Record Form and return it to the Office of Citizen Assistance no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2004. Applications received after this deadline will not be forwarded to City Council.

Alexandria Park and Recreation Commission has one vacancy for a representative from Planning District II due to an expiring term. The Commission meets on the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. Approximately eight hours per month are required of Commission members.
