Dear DC Area PfP supporters:

Below my signature please find the current DC area fall schedule for
Pedals for Progress. As you can see, this will keep me busy every
weekend through November 10. Our goal is to collect 2,000 bicycles
over the next 12 weeks, which will put our area efforts over 5,000
for the year and help Pedals for Progress overall, for the first
time, surpass 10,000 bikes shipped in one year.

PLEASE POST!!!! To this end, I ask your help in posting this to
corporate, school, and other institutional or interest listservs and
websites, as appropriate, or sharing with neighbors. PfP depends on
grassroots, electronic word-of-mouth to continue our momentum.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! Also, please review the list and see if you
might be able to lend a hand at one of the listed events (however,
there will be others). I am particularly interested at present in
recruiting help in compacting bikes at the upcoming collections in
Alexandria (Sat. Sept. 22, 9am - 3pm) and Arlington (Saturday,
October 20, 9am - 3pm). Eventually, depending on the results of our
incipient effort to implement a community-wide ecumenical collection
effort in McLean and Great Falls, I may also need help over the
weekend of November 3-4 to accompany specific collections and load
bikes into a container.

I am also interested in manning two tables at two unlisted non-
collection events, one on Saturday, September 22 (9am-4pm) at
Bicycling Magazine's Great Gear Swap at the DC Stadium-Armory, and
the other on Sunday, September 23 (11am-5pm) at the National Zoo's
Fiesta Musical. Contact me for details.

Thanks again for your interest and support.
