Ft Belvoir Road Closings includes Walker Gate (Bike Impact)

Fort Belvoir has announced that they will be significantly shutting down
access to the Post.   With the exception of the rush-hour period during the
work week,  many roads used by bicyclist will be blocked

'Walker Gate' ,which connects to Mt Vernon Highway, will be open only during
rush-hour.   Seven days a week this route is heavily used by cyclist.
Besides leading to bike friendly roads it allows riders to avoid one of US1
most dangerous intersections.
