New East Braddock Road Crosswalk

Dear Alexandria Bicycle Study Committee (BSC)

I am writing about the new East Braddock Road Crosswalk that is halfway
between the intersection of Mount Vernon Avenue and North West Street.
(West of the Railroad Bridge at the Braddock Metro Station).    I guessing
your group had something to do with it’s location and I’d like to thank you.

With all the ‘turning’ vehicle traffic, it can be a challenge using the
crosswalk at Mount Vernon Ave.   On the other hand , the new crosswalk is
far enough from the intersection to make crossing a breeze.   I’ve yet to
need the crossing ‘control device’.   Even during peak-traffic, the traffic
island with its  ‘at grade’ crosswalk cut makes it easy to find a gap in the
traffic.
