Ok folks.  Its time to start think about how we might update the bike plan.
The city has undertaken a study of open space inventory and needs for the
city.  I like to say that the bike plan we put together is the beginning of
a greenways plan for how to get around the city without having to fight the
vehicular traffic.  In order to have  input to the city study with our
current thinking we need to identify all those little short cuts and secret
routes you take.  Of primary concern, are the little open spaces that may be
vacant lots or "abandoned" street ends that provide safe and convenient
connections between neighborhoods or connect to other places to go.  Please
pass you ideas on to me as you see or think of them and I will compile a
list.  This will be a work in progress for the next several months.  I serve
on a steering committee for the open space study, so your early ideas and
thoughts will help me.  Either e-mail or telephone.
