Dear Friend of Bicycling,
My  three year appointment to the Alexandria Park & Recreation Commission
expires next month and I will be seeking a reappointment from the City
Council.  During this period I have chaired the Commission's Bicycle Study
Committee and in recognition of this commitment, received the Washington
Area Bicyclist Association Volunteer of the Year Award for promoting
improved bicycling conditions in Alexandria.  I also serve on the
Commission's Open Space subcommittee and a Wilson Bridge Stakeholder Panel.
I have participated fully in all deliberations of the Commission, having
missed only one meeting in three years.
I would appreciate your support with a friendly word to your favorite
Council member(s).  A letter of endorsement from you to City Council would
be useful and can be addressed
to City Council and submitted prior to February 2, 2001 as follows:
