Dear Alexandria and Fairfax County Non-motorized Transportation Reps

As best I understand,  currently local governements may allow skates and
scooters to use Local Roads but not State Roads within thier boundries.

HOUSE BILL NO. 2173 (attached) permits City and Country Government to enact
Legislation that would permit street skating on State Roads within the
jurisdistion of the local government.

Should this legislation pass, please consider recommending that the
jurisdiction you represent enact legislation that allows skate to be used
for travel.  The 'Skate Belong' draft, which AAAFTS Dr Osberg presented last
year at MWCOG,  provides support.
