Ok, Ruth I'll ride down tomorrow morning.  If I need to know 
anything special besides what is in your e-mail and what I remember 
from the meetings let me know today.  Here's what I think the committee
position is:
We want a direct way for bikers to travel north to south under the bridge.
We don't want bikers mixed in with other users near the water's edge or 
any other place with dense aggregations of strollers, dog walkers etc.
The berm path through the woods seems like a good way to communicate bikers 
with old-town with little eco disruption.  We will only support the berm
path if
other interests also support it.  If everyone is against the berm path we
want something bike equivalent for directness and separation from congested
areas.
Is that about it?
