We should come up with a response to post to this - The Jamison Street Bike
Trail topic is I think what he means.

I've avoided the area since it was announced that the trail segment
connecting the Cameron Run trail with Old Town Alexandria would be
closed due to construction at the incinerator. Today, I rode to
see what was up with the area.

Signs marking the old route are gone, and new signs direct you to
ride on the sidewalk of Duke St. (VA-236)! It's a really rotten
and unsafe ride with blind driveways every 10 feet.

Does Alexandria ever plan on restoring the original trail?
