The East Coast Greenway Alliance and a similar group in Canada for the
Trans Canadian Trail are promoting the trails by carrying water from the
Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific as in a "wave" of support. Some unexpected
excitement: the
Metal Cowboy from Bicycling Magazine is planning to join the wave in
Alexandria, so it would be great to have more riders on the Alexandria to DC
leg on Tuesday afternoon. Following is a tentative schedule. I will
provide an update Monday evening and/or Tuesday morning.

Monday April 17
Fredricksburg cyclists leave F'burg at 11, arrive in Manassas between 2-3.
Barbara Nelson of Virginia Trails Association will hand the wave over to the
Northern Virginia riders to go as far as Mt. Vernon by Monday evening.

Tuesday April 18
Leave from Mt Vernon between 11-1 for Alexandria intersection of King and
Union or Market Square. Joe Kurmaskie of Bicycling Magazine and Willie Weir
of Adventure Cycling will join us between 1-2 for the ride into DC. Joe
wants to do a story on the Wave and shoot some video. We will hand the wave
over to the DC folks at the Memorial Bridge between 3-4. Joe and Willie
are doing a "click
and clack" on bikes show at the Baileys Crossroads Borders Bookstore at 7
that evening
