Marion and John,
I think the map came out looking very good. following is the message I sent
asking for comments and the comments I got. I think that it sure is good
enough to put out there for the general public. If you think that the
committee can help with any improvements, let me know.
Thanks for your hard work.

This is in a test mode. Please visit the map and give me any comments you
may have. I will consolidate and pass on to the Rec. Dept. Yes it is slow.

I have looked at the map a bit and recommend that :
They need to make a simplified map that people can print out on one sheet of
8.5 by 11 inch paper. It would have just enough information so people can
get on their bikes and use it to find the bike routes. They could fold it up
and stuff it in their pockets and not get too upset if it gets rained on or
lost.
Of course such a map would not be nearly as pretty as the lithographed map
or its full blown web equivalent.

1) It needs a legend, I know what most of the symbols mean except the green
square with the white drip coffee filter in it???
2) The images that make up the whole map haven't been registered properly,
check out Eisenhower Ave. and Stovall, you can follow the disconnect all the
way North
to Melrose and King and beyond.
3) Can someone planning a visit download it? If not can they be directed on
how to buy or pick one up? I don't have a printer but so many people have
color laser
printers at home nowadays.
It isn't slow on the T1 line here at work, I'll try it from home through
the 26400 modem dial up connection.

The on-line bike map looks great! I only have one comment: Provide a listing
of locations for people to pick up printed copies.

I tried using the on-line map. The format looks good and is nicely
presented,
but unfortunately I find it almost impossible to use. It would make more
sense
when referred to with the trails booklet, which is STILL on the drawing
board.
There is a "JavaScript error" on the first site, the Canal Lock. Somewhere
it
should mention how to get the actual bike map.
